Shawnnetta Green, M.Ed., APC, NCC, PMH-C

Shawnnetta is an Associate Professional Counselor and a new addition to our staff. She is under the supervision of Cheryl Francis, LPC, CPCS, CGP. She is available to see clients virtually or face-to-face and currently accepts self-pay clients only.

Shawnnetta is a two-time graduate of the University of West Georgia, where she earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in Professional Counseling, Clinical Mental Health. She also completed her internship in the Counseling Center at the University of West Georgia and has a special interest in working with young adults.

Shawnnetta uses a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach when assisting clients and helping them navigate their concerns. However, she sometimes intertwines Person-Centered, Adlerian, Internal Family Systems, or Gestalt therapy interventions in her work with clients.

Shawnnetta is particularly skilled in working with individuals who have experienced loss, stress, depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationship issues, and low self-esteem. She specializes in grief, maternal mental health, trauma, and adult ADHD. She has completed additional training in Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) and is currently working toward certification in Perinatal Mental Health. Shawnnetta is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA), Licensed Professional Counselors Association (LPCA) of Georgia, Postpartum Support International (PSI), and Chi Sigma Iota.

Shawnnetta is an ordained minister and pastor. She is married with 2 children. Shawnnetta enjoys traveling, spending time with family, eating out, and binge-watching new series on Netflix.
